Whether you are a professional builder or a dedicated hobbyist, anyone working on a 1964–1972 Buick knows the struggle: they almost all have rust in the battery tray area or core support
There is an old theory in the classic car world that you “go west for metal and east for interior.” However, for the Buick community, the desert heat presents a unique challenge. When temperatures hit 120°F, batteries often fail or leak, meaning even “dry climate” donor cars aren’t immune to corrosion in that specific spot.
Because of this, we primarily offer “workable” units—candidates that provide a great foundation for your restoration but will all require rust repair cleanup to be perfect. Nothing we can offer is close to rust free.
Please let me know which model and year you are currently working on, and I would be happy to see what we have in stock for your build.
