Today we started by clearing the slate. We knew we wouldn’t be needing the factory body mounts, and the other frame bracket, so GMC (yes that’s his name) and Fitz are grinding away.
Once all unnecessary mounts are removed, we’ll be taking measurements to cut off the rear section of the frame. On this build, we’re not using a bed, so we’re going for the “floating rear end” look.
Once we’re done with that, we’ll mock up the front end. In the front straight axle (we’re using 64 Ford 1/2 loaded axle) we’re planning on the a ecliptic front set up. We have lots of research to do on this, so if any one wants to chime in here on the thread, please do.
The motor of choice, after a few…is this Ford 390. We’ll be using an automatic trans. Why? Well, we had a car come to the rack for a customer and when we opened the hood to test it…it just felt right. And looks pretty cool too!
